Ronnie I. Mimran, M.D. was born and raised in Southern California. He received
his Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology from UCLA. His medical
training was undertaken at the University of Southern California, where he graduated with honors, including
election to Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Mimran then completed a
six-year residency in Neurological Surgery at the University of Florida. Additionally, he
also completed a Clinical Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery in 2004, as well as serving as
Chief Resident in 2004-2005.
Dr. Mimran received
numerous awards and honors throughout his educational
experience, including the “Charles Shank Award for
Excellence in Neurosurgery”, and “University of Florida
College of Medicine Outstanding Resident Educator”. He
has published numerous articles on the minimally
invasive treatment of spinal disorders. After completing
his Neurosurgery Residency, he moved to the Bay area and
joined the team at Pacific Brain and Spine.
Dr. Mimran is board
certified by the American Board of Neurological
Surgery. He is a member of the American Association
of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological
Surgeons, the North American Spine Society, and the AANS/CNS Section on Disorders of the
Spine and Peripheral Nerves. His practice focuses on
surgical and non-surgical treatment of brain and spinal
disorders, with an emphasis on minimally invasive
techniques for the spine.
Dr. Mimran serves as the neurosurgical consultant to the Oakland Raiders.
Dr. Mimran holds
physician privileges at Eden Medical Center, San Ramon
Regional Medical Center, San Leandro Hospital, and Alta
Bates Summit Medical Center.
Additionally, many of his minimally invasive surgeries can be performed at the San Ramon Surgery Center.
