Ronnie I. Mimran, M.D. was born and raised in Southern California.  He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology from the University of California, Los Angeles. His medical training was undertaken at the University of Southern California, where he graduated with honors, including election to Alpha Omega Alpha.  Dr. Mimran then completed an internship in General Surgery, and a six-year residency in Neurological Surgery at the University of Florida, in Gainesville.  In that time, he also completed a Clinical Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery in 2004, as well as serving as Chief Resident in 2004-2005.

Dr. Mimran received numerous awards and honors throughout his educational experience, including the “Charles Shank Award for Excellence in Neurosurgery”, and “University of Florida College of Medicine Outstanding Resident Educator”.  He has published numerous articles on the minimally invasive treatment of spinal disorders. After completing his Neurosurgery Residency, he moved to the Bay area and joined the team at Pacific Brain and Spine.

Dr. Mimran is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery.    He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and the AANS/CNS Section on Disorders of the Spine and Peripheral Nerves.  His practice focuses on surgical and non-surgical treatment of brain and spinal disorders, with an emphasis on minimally invasive techniques for the spine. 

Dr. Mimran holds physician privileges at Eden Medical Center, San Ramon Regional Medical Center, San Leandro Hospital, and Alta Bates Summit Medical Center.
